Distant nebula
diffuse and random
the stars overlap
and collapse
on themselves

High plains
lonesome trails
vast as the skies
universe collides
in a comet of smoke

Dance across twilight
stardust at dawn
the desert night holds us
hand in hand
naked and alone
in astral light

  4. I saw a show on PBS the other night about how we are losing the night sky. There are few places, far between, where we can see the sky we saw as children. Thank you for helping to preserve it for us.

    • Man, that’s frightening. Hope it’s not too late.

      Thanks for commenting!

      • I found myself singing “Stardust” as I watered the garden last night πŸ™‚

      • Louis’ version rather than Sinatra/Dorsey, I hope!

      • It was gritty Willie’s voice in my head, my voice in the garden, just me and the firefiles πŸ™‚ As to Sinatra, ugh -Kenny Rankin and Bobby McFerrin are more my style.
