Stardust

Distant nebula
diffuse and random
the stars overlap
and collapse
on themselves
High plains
lonesome trails
vast as the skies
universe collides
in a comet of smoke
Dance across twilight
stardust at dawn
the desert night holds us
hand in hand
naked and alone
in astral light

I saw a show on PBS the other night about how we are losing the night sky. There are few places, far between, where we can see the sky we saw as children. Thank you for helping to preserve it for us.
Man, that’s frightening. Hope it’s not too late.
Thanks for commenting!
Where’s the LOVE button! Yummy poetry.
Where’s the comment LOVE button?!?
I agree with Cristy! Lovely evocative poem – tis the season for star gazing and dreaming
Glad to have you along!
I found myself singing “Stardust” as I watered the garden last night
Louis’ version rather than Sinatra/Dorsey, I hope!
It was gritty Willie’s voice in my head, my voice in the garden, just me and the firefiles
As to Sinatra, ugh -Kenny Rankin and Bobby McFerrin are more my style.
FYI…tomorrow you are being nominated for a shitload of blogging awards by moi! Check out my blog, http://www.paltrymeanderings.com, anytime after 6:30 a.m. E.S.T. tomorrow for all the details. Congrats!

This scene was recently mine. Your art is your imagery.
Awesome! I’d love to hear more. I’ve never seen the desert…
I like the naked and alone description, ahaha. Hello, Brian…
Hey, now!
